Antistatic PVC

Antistatic PVC, or static dissipative PVC, is created by the addition of an antistatic ingredient to PVC compounds. The role of the antistatic agent is to make the surface of the material itself slightly conductive.

Antistatic PVC is utilised for products where surfaces require the reduction or elimination of the build-up of static electricity to avoid damage resultant from the static electrical charges. The most popular applications are in static electric sensitive areas, electronic manufacturing and packaging.

Antistatic PVC, or static dissipative PVC, has a number of advantages when compared to other options to deliver the technical solution required. For example, parts produced in antistatic PVC can be cheaper to produce, lighter in weight, less easily dented or scratched and more cost effective to ship than alternative solutions such as metal or surface coatings.
